A series of shoes, combining digital design and 3D printing of the sole, made from thermoplastic & flexible material, against handmade upper made from classic leather.
11 years ago, I crashed with my motorcycle, flew in the air and bumped into the hard asphalt. After a long recovery process, I ended up with scars all over my arms, which I’ve decided to cover up with tattoos. The chosen images were wings, a symbol of freedom and protection.
In this project, I wanted the shoes to correlate with those notions: to enable freedom of movement, offer protection and flexibility while covering the bare skin.
My shoes suggest both a personal touch, inspired by my own story and tattoos (located at the sole), but also generate a meeting point of technology, design and traditional shoe making craftsmanship.
